The Root Cause Coalition Welcomes Enterprise Community Partners as Newest Member

WASHINGTON, DC – The Root Cause Coalition welcomed Enterprise Community Partners (Enterprise) as its newest member, bringing the Coalition’s total membership to 52 organizations.

Enterprise is a powerful and proven nonprofit that makes well-designed homes affordable and creates communities where people thrive, with connections to resources like health care, schools, jobs and transportation. To date, it has created nearly 529,000 homes and invested $36 billion throughout the United States.  Enterprise’s Health and Housing Initiative brings together the fields of public health and affordable housing for the creation and promotion of healthy housing.

“The Root Cause Coalition is pleased to formally join forces with such an estimable nonprofit collaborator,” said Barbara Petee, Executive Director of The Root Cause Coalition. “Enterprise has spent more than 30 years affecting enduring, positive change in underserved communities. Through this partnership, we’re uniting one of the leading organizations in the community development sector with a diverse group of cross-sector partners who share Enterprise’s goal of building vibrant, healthy communities.”

“Enterprise is committed to improving communities and people’s lives, starting with affordable, well-designed homes,” said Terri Ludwig, chief executive officer, Enterprise. “We know that the quality, affordability, stability and location of homes are key drivers of a person’s health and well-being. We are proud to contribute what we’ve learned from decades of cross-sector collaboration to The Root Cause Coalition and work together to promote healthy homes, healthy communities and healthy futures.”

Enterprise Community Partners becomes the ninth organization to join the Coalition in 2018, following the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Second Harvest Heartland, LISC, the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation, the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities, Fairview Health Services, Aetna, and the Center for Population Health at Cheshire Medical Center.
