The Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation supports pediatric research, education, community benefit programs and other initiatives that improve the health of children in Michigan.
“The Root Cause Coalition is pleased to welcome the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation as its newest partner,” said Barbara Petee, Executive Director of The Root Cause Coalition. “This institution brings a wealth of philanthropic and administrative expertise to our coalition, as well as a passionate commitment to our mission: reversing and ending the systemic root causes of health inequity.”
“The Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation is delighted to join the other partners of The Root Cause Coalition,” said Lawrence J. Burns, President & CEO, Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation. “This new affiliation is an important step on the pathway of becoming a recognized advocate for children locally, regionally and nationally.”
The Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation is the state’s largest funder dedicated solely to advancing the health and wellness of the children of Michigan. Through funding and advocacy dedicated to three core pillars—Community Benefit, Pediatric Research and Medical Education—the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation enables researchers and community organizations to identify and implement innovations capable of advancing children’s health. The current areas of focus for the Foundation include mental health, nutritional wellness, abuse and neglect, oncology and cardiology research and injury prevention.
The Foundation became the fourth organization to join the Coalition in 2018, following UPMC, Second Harvest Heartland and LISC.
