WASHINGTON, DC – The Root Cause Coalition welcomed Fairview Health Services as the Coalition’s newest partner and sixth new member since January 1, 2018.
Fairview Health Services is an award-winning, nonprofit integrated health care system based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Founded in 1906, Fairview provides exceptional health care to patients and communities as one of the most comprehensive and geographically accessible systems in Minnesota. Fairview’s 32,000 employees and 2,400 affiliated providers embrace innovation and new thinking to drive a healthier future through healing, discovery and education for longer, healthier lives.
“The Root Cause Coalition is immensely pleased to welcome Fairview Health Services into the fold,” said Barbara Petee, Executive Director of the Root Cause Coalition. “In addition to a record of providing exceptional health care, this health system brings a proven commitment to cutting-edge research, education and mission-driven service to the Coalition.”
“Fairview is honored to become a member of the Root Cause Coalition and work with the other partners in our collective drive to address the social determinants of health,” said John Swanholm, Vice President, Community Advancement, Fairview Health Services. “We believe that this collaboration with like-minded organizations — focusing on policy and systems change — will better position us to expand community partnerships and further impact community health and well-being.”
Fairview’s broad continuum includes academic and community hospitals, primary and specialty care clinics, senior and long-term care facilities, retail and specialty pharmacies, pharmacy benefit management services, rehabilitation centers, counseling and home health care services, an integrated provider network, and health insurer PreferredOne.
Fairview became the sixth organization to join the Coalition in 2018, following the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Second Harvest Heartland, LISC, the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation and the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities.
