TRCC Hiring Spring 2023 Intern

General Internship Opportunity


The Root Cause Coalition is seeking an energetic, responsible undergraduate intern. In this position, interns will be given day-to-day responsibilities to help integrate them into the core work of the team. The intern will contribute to advancing the Coalition’s mission to end the systemic root causes of health inequities by providing support on a variety of projects and maintaining daily organizational routines and procedures within the team.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist in preparing information and gathering research materials; including, but not limited to, creating and maintaining PowerPoint presentations for members of both the Coalition and the general public.

  • Assist in creating content for TRCC weekly newsletter

  • Take notes during meetings; type up documents, reports and other drafts of TRCC written materials

  • Oversee data entry and organization of existing datasets.

  • Oversee the addition of new contacts to the Coalition’s e-mail list.

  • Assist with general event planning for the Coalition’s larger events including, but not limited to, the National Summit, Advocacy Day and regional summits.

  • Participate in team meetings

  • Other duties as assigned by TRCC staff


Qualifications:

  • Current Junior or Senior at an accredited college.

  • Organized, self‐motivated and flexible.

  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.

  • Ability to work well with multiple and diverse groups of people.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.

  • Excellent computer skills, especially in Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.

  • Interest in non‐profits, health equity, hunger, public health, advocacy, research and/or healthcare.

  • Available to work 20‐30 hours per week.
